Processing of personal data.

01Data controller

Porto Monte is a registered holiday let (alojamento local) in Maceira, Torres Vedras, run by the Marques family. The controller of your data is ——, tax number (NIF) ——.

02Data collected

The data you enter in the booking form:

• name and email, so that we can reply to you;
• phone number, if you choose to provide it;
• dates, number of guests and rooms you book;
• your message, if you write one;
• the language of the page, so that we reply in the same language.

Regarding payment, we keep only the amount, the payment method and the date. Payment is made on a Stripe page: card, MB WAY or Multibanco details are processed by Stripe and are never transmitted to us.

We never ask for identity documents through the site. If your message includes information about your health — an allergy or a food intolerance, for example — it is used only to prepare your stay and is deleted together with the request.

We keep no data about visitors who only browse the pages. What our providers record during those visits is described in section 4.

03Purposes

• Managing and fulfilling your booking: reserving the rooms, taking payment and preparing your stay. This is performing a contract with you (GDPR, Article 6(1)(b)).
• Sending the confirmation by email and informing you if a payment must be refunded, on the same basis.
• Preventing abuse: one email address may not send more than five requests in 24 hours, on the basis of a legitimate interest in keeping the form working (Article 6(1)(f)).

Your data is not used for advertising, nor sold or shared with third parties, and no newsletters are sent.

04Processors

The site relies on the following providers, which process data on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.

• Supabase

  Hosts the database that holds the requests. Servers in Frankfurt, Germany · European Commission standard contractual clauses

• Stripe

  Takes the payment, by card, MB WAY or Multibanco, on its own page, and keeps payment details under the rules it is bound by. Stripe Payments Europe, Ireland

• Resend

  Sends the booking confirmation to the guest and the notice to the property. US company · EU-US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses

• Google Fonts

  Serves the site's typefaces. When you open a page, your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address.

• Hosting

  Serves the site's pages. Like any server, it logs the IP address and the page requested, for security. ——

By following a link to Booking.com or Google Maps, you leave our site and the privacy policies of those companies apply.

05Retention period

Bookings are deleted automatically one year after the departure date, whether or not they were paid. You may request earlier deletion (section 6).

Once a booking is confirmed, the data required for your stay and for invoicing is kept for the periods required by Portuguese law for holiday lets.

06Your rights

At any time, you may request:

• access to your data and a copy of it;
• the rectification of inaccurate data;
• the erasure of your data;
• the restriction of, or objection to, the processing;
• the portability of your data.

To do so, please contact reservas@portomonte.pt. We will reply within one month.

If you consider that your data has not been handled properly, you may lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados.

07Cookies and analytics

The site does not use cookies, analytics or advertising tools, and therefore no consent is requested.

During payment, the site stores the address of the payment page in your browser, for that visit only, so that you can return to it. The payment page belongs to Stripe, which uses its own cookies to prevent fraud.

08Security

Bookings can only be accessed by the property's staff, after signing in with a password. The site can create bookings but has no access to the personal data in any of them. Your card number never passes through our site, and the connection to the database is always encrypted.

09Changes

Any change to this policy will be reflected in the date shown at the top of the page.
